How come when I stick my hand in the freshwater tank it cannot feel the water getting hot? This is because most machines have 3 tanks, a freshwater tank, a dirty water vacuum tank, and a heating tank that is installed under the hood. The path of the water travels from the fresh tank > pump > heater > out the machine. After it passes through the heater it leaves the machine.
