  • Heated carpet extractor say the water is 200 degrees at the tip Possible?

Why do some of the ads I see say the water is 200 degrees at the tip? This is a true statement while misleading at the same time. If I set my carpet cleaning wand down and stop cleaning, then wait 3 or 4 minutes, pick up the wand and start cleaning again, the 8 oz heater tank installed under the hood of my electric heated portable carpet cleaning machine will reach 200 degrees. As I start cleaning again, that 8oz of 200-degree water will leave the tip of that heater at 200 degrees for the next 10 seconds or so… It will not be 200 degrees at the tip of the wand as most customers will lose at least 30 degrees on the water out of the machine and down the hose. Additional temperature will be lost as the water leaves the spray jet on the way through the air to the carpet. A 2000-watt electric heater averages a 20-25 degree rise up and above whatever water temperatures I poured into my machine if I perform a 2/3 time rinse stroke and a 1/3 rd time dry stroke.

Working...
