Goliath Vacuum motor testing:
We tested 7 vac motors used in different carpet cleaning machines. Each unit was tested for heat out but at 5 min of running. We did 5 minutes because we found that it takes 5 min for a vacuum motor to reach the full temperature. All motors where two stage vacuum motors. All motors where operated with only allowing a 3/16" hole of air to reach the motors. We then took the measurement with air totally totally closed off. The 3/16" hole was to simulate the work a vacuum motor does with the lip of the wand on the wet carpet. Not totally closed off and not totally open either. We tested the out bound temperature with both a cooking thermometer and with a laser thermometer. Each motor took a reading inches of mercury and then converted to inches of lift. Each reading was taken at 900 ft above sea level. Each motor was bench tested outside the machine (not in the machine)
WestPak 10-2460 6.8" Hg (92.5" H2O) / 7.5" Hg (102" H2O) 170 degrees Exhaust temp
Electro Motor 6600-004T-MP 8.2" Hg (111" H2O) / 9.1"Hg (124" H2O) 165 degrees
Lamb 116207-00 6.7"Hg (91.2"H2O) / 7.4" Hg (101"H2O) 180 degrees
Electro Q6600-33T 6.1" Hg (83" H2O) / 6.8" Hg (92.5" H2O) 140 degrees
Lamb 116392-00 5.6" Hg (76.2" H2O) / 6" Hg (81.7"H2O) 160 degrees
Lamb GSE Value Line 131300-13 5.2" Hg (70.8" H2O) / 6" Hg (81.7" H2O) 142 degrees
Domel 5006 491 3 422 5.9" Hg (80.3" H2O) 6.3" Hg (85.7" H2O) 160 degrees
The Electro Motor 004T-MP and the Lamb 116207-00 use too high of an amp draw so these are not considered for use.
