When I first started this project, I always knew from the very beginning that I wanted our equipment to fit in most Mini-Vans for the following reasons:
They burn less fuel than most Commercial Vans-
In the event someone just starting out already has a Mini-Van, they will not have to purchase a Commercial Van just to get started-
More affordable when used than most Commercial Vans with comparable amount of mileage-
At any rate, one of the things I had to do was go out and measure as many Vans as possible...both Commercial and Mini.
I measured from the ground to the step-in (where the bottom of the machine will mount.)-
Side door opening-
Cargo door/s opening-
Side door section measurement from floor to ceiling- (Middle row seat area.)
Cargo door section measurement from floor to ceiling- (3rd row seat area, cargo area in extreme back of Van.)
From the side door, the interior distance from one side of the Van to the other side- (Made note of where the middle was between the 2 front seats.)
Unfortunately, I have mis-placed the Notes on these measurements.
As soon as time allots, I will be taking measurements of various Mini-Vans again and Posting them on our web-site as well as here.
Hopefully this will help some determine which Van/s will work best and where best to mount their ETM/HTM.
