Question: Hello I was looking at the power joiner step up converter to power up a 2hp air compressor I have that draws 115V at 16amps that peaks at 5hp when starting. I was wondering if one of the Step up inverters would be strong enough to power it. I have previously purchased inverters that have not been strong enough to get it started and I was wondering if these inverters that combined two outlets would be strong enough. Thank you.
Answer: No this product will not help you. Some motors are dual voltage and if you can change if from being a 120 volt 16 amp motor to a 240 volt 8 amp motor you can use the above inverter. If you can rewire the motor, this would help. Please look at the motor plate. Many motors you simply remove the back plate and move a few wires. You can also plug the air compressor into an electric clothes dryer outlet.

Made with 25 amp breakers and used to power high amp draw equipment when standard 15 amp breakers blow.
