Question: why would i need the ball valves? can't figure out their position in the whole system.
Answer: Picture cleaning a two story home with a 500 psi extractor. The carpet cleaning machine is on the first floor and you are cleaning the second floor with 75 ft of hose. When you want to switch between the injection sprayer and carpet cleaning wand, you have to:
go downstairs to turn the water pressure off, go upstairs and change the cleaning attachment, go downstairs to turn the machine back on, go upstairs to go back to work.
This is all avoided by turning the water pressure off at the end of the pressure hose, change the cleaning attachment, then turn the pressure back on.
Without ball valves you are tired and a processional stair climber, with ball valves a professional carpet cleaner.
