  • Help installing a 500 psi pump inside my portable carpet cleaning extractor

    Question Hello
I WAS LOOKING FOR A HIGH PRO PUMP TO INSTALL IN MY CARPET EXTRACTOR AND I FOUND ONE Hypro 5321C IT HAS HIGH WATER TEMPS WHICH I WANT BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THE AMPS AS LOW AS POSSIBLE DO YOU HAVE THE UNIT IN A 500 PSI . I WAS ALSO LOOKING TO BUY A COMPLETE PUMP WITH A REGULATOR AND HOSES IS IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO SELL ME A COMPLETE PACKAGE.
IT MIGHT BE EASIER TO GIVE ME A CALL TO EXPLAIN WHAT I WANT TO DO.
    JIM

Answer: The lowest 500 psi amp draw motor / pump I know about is the Pumptec 81275 at 2.8 Amps @ 120 volts

and this must be used with pulse hose and regulator set up Pumptec 80657

But has to be used with 140 degree F water or less

The problem with the Hypro 5321C

is it has to be coupled with an electric motor that takes up a lot of space and add quite a bit more weight to the machine. It can be used with water up to 190 degrees F
Another idea is to take the equipment synergistic approach to the upgrade. This is to purchase an electric pressure washer (carry in or roll in), hook it to the hot water and dial in the water pressure you want to use. Cost us usually about the same as upgrading the machine without the hassle of installation. It also removes the weight from out from under the hood and means your machine will continue to be easy to load and unload. Please note that hooking to the customers hot water means you are pressure feeding the pump so your system becomes autofill and will clean with about 10 degree more water temperature because it does not sit in a freshwater tank and time to cool down. While you are upgrading your carpet cleaning rig, you just upgraded to tile and grout cleaning at the same time because the pump can easily toggle between 500 psi carpet cleaning 1200-1500 psi tile cleaning and maybe even 2100 psi for outdoor pressure washing.
