Question: Could you tell me if General Pump 100538 Dial Thermostat 86 - 250 Degrees F. 781999 [100538] that you are selling, would work with my older Prochem Performer Bear? My truckmount has never had a thermostat dial on it, so I'm hoping to add one to it.
Thank you, Peter
Answer: This can be added to any make or model truck mounted carpet cleaning machine. It might not fit in the same hole or the same spot as an existing controller on the face panel but you can always add the needed plumbing on the hot water side and find or add a plate for mounting the dial. The water probe takes 1/2" Fip connection with a deep throat so you might have to add an extender like the one below
You also might have to add a brass tee fitting
You will need to have the dial control something like a solenoid
And to prevent you from loosing pressure you will have to control the release of steam by installing a spray jet
11003 is a good size for this
Consider water filter to protect the solenoid from trash
and swivel so you can service all the parts
This is by no way a complete list of parts you will need but a starting point.
You would want to spray the water back into the waste tank or water box. I would tell you the waste tank dump is better because this is used as a last step safety controller and if it is turning on I am sure your water box is already hot.
Thank you, Peter
