Question: I have a propane fired water heater that is heat controlled by gas flow only with no temperature sensing device, just a Suttner flow switch. I would like to install one of these http://www.steam-brite.com/general-p...9-p-13741.html so I can thermostatically control the water temp, but I'm not sure how to hook it up in conjunction with the flow switch. Any help will be much appreciated.
Answer: Just install the electricity in series. The electricity will have to make it through both the flow switch and the thermostat to burn. In other words, splice into one side of the flow switch wire and install the thermostat in line. This will mean the water must be in motion and be under the temp setting to light.
