Question: I bought a unit about 5 years ago used it once then got it out last week to use it when I put water in and turned it on to heat no light came on and it did not heat this is in essence a brand new unit.....any suggestions?
Answer: Off hand I would say you need to bench test the heater. Follow the two wires that come our of the heater and disconnect them from the machine. Install a replacement male extension cord end on these two wires and plug it into the end of an extension cord and see if it gets hot. If it does, then you know you need to test some of the other components, like the switch. Naturally if it does not heat the water, you need a new heating element. Using a multimeter is a big help when running down electrical problems
