  • I have a problem

I recently picked up a mytee 1003dx. I took the filter off to clean it, and now I can't get the dang thing back on. Anyone know what the magic secret to getting this put back on?

BTW I'm a new poster here, been looking this forum over for awhile. looks like a bunch of great guys here. Donald seems real helpfull.

which filter Andy? There are at least 2. One is on the solution side (in mine anyway) and the other is just inside the recovery tank.

        Ah..

Mine was a biotch the first time too. Mine is a round screen thingy and it screws on. I have to turn it the wrong way a time or two to get it to 'sink' before screwing on.

Mine is cloth and it slides on and then velcrows to it's self to hold in place.

Trying to get it slid back on is like a blind man trying to thred a needle. I supose I will call mytee and ask them whats up. I would just asoon leave it off if the machine would run ok with out it?

            Mytee waste tank filter

Mytee has a white Velcro lint filter inside of the waste/vacuum tank. This is a piece of junk. Velcro is no a long lasting performer in the presents of carpet fibers. In a very short time, the Velcro will not be sticky and you will be discouraged to keep using the filter. What you want to do is replace this with PHY049-030 8" X 17" draw string waste tank filter bag (about $24). The draw string closer works every time and does not fall off and is easeir to install. I do not recommend that you use the machine without it.

The filter bag is in the recovery tank.

Sorry Phil, I had a dislexic moment. Yes the filter is in the RECOVERY tank. lol

OK so it looks like I spend $24 and problem solved.

Donald, I cliked the link on your post and entered a search "PHY049-030 8" X 17" draw string waste tank filter bag" and nothing came up, do you sell this product?

                  THAT was funny.

I had the same issue you write about and solved it with the bag.

                  You'll be fine.
